Based in Nottingham UK,birding,this time round,about 12years.
Actually first got interested in 1957 and obtained a pair of ex. German Navy binoculars, big and heavy, from my Uncle Fred.
Then I got hold of a pair of Italian made ones, much smaller and easier to handle,I must have swopped something like an airgun for them.
Three year of my nine years in the army were spent in Aden, a wonderful place with Black Kites, Vultures, Storks and stuff to see, In three years I never came home, I had two weeks leave in Kenya again lots to see.
After the army it was marriage another fourteen great years but not much birding. During those years I decided to be a full time Rock 'n' Roll star, so again, not much birding.
Twelve years ago, fed up with the petty sqabbles, ego's and life-style in general I decided to take up birding again, but this time to really get into it and that brings me upto date.
Profile Update: 24th. May 2008, moved from Nottingham to Cotmanhay in Derbyshire.
My local patch is now Bennerley Marsh, which is just behind my house.
